With its massive room size, stunning ocean views, direct shuttle service to the airport, and proximity to spots like Hong Kong Disneyland and Ngong Ping 360, the hotel looks to be quite the convenient spot away from HK’s urban lifestyle.
So what exactly does the hotel experience offer? How scenic is their famed Ocean View room? And is it worth the stay? Let’s get to it. How Good is Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel Actually?

🛏️ Deluxe Ocean View Room 🛏️
For this trip, I stayed at their Deluxe Ocean View Room.
At 26 m², it’s impressively spacious – especially if you’re used to the smaller rooms around Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.
In addition to the King bed and bathroom, the room also fits in a workspace & lounge corner, wide foyer area with a built-in closet, and the highlight that lives up to the room’s name: a massive window looking out to Tung Chung Bay and Hong Kong International Airport.
Some quick notes before we dive into the specifics:
Flooring: Carpet on the main space, polished tiles in the foyer and bathroom.
Wi-Fi: Fantastic! Fast with no issues during my stay.
Housekeeping: Daily Service
Stay Duration: Check-In is at 3 P.M., while Check-Out is at 11 A.M.

🛏️ Bed Area 🛏️
As expected from a 5-star Sheraton hotel, their King Bed is more than spacious for two, and beyond luxury for a solo traveller.
The mattress is layered with a pillowtop and a featherbed topper, giving it a plush, sink-in finish that’s incredibly comfy.
Paired with a fluffy duvet-style blanket and a set of medium-soft pillows, it’s really the perfect setup to crash into after a long day exploring Hong Kong.

🛏️ Nightstand Area 🛏️
To the left of the bed, the nightstand comes equipped with a phone, notepad, master light switch, and an alarm clock that doubles (triples?) as a Bluetooth speaker and wireless charger – though no accessible power outlet on this side.
The right nightstand features much less going on, but you’ll find another set of light switches, a power outlet, and two USB-A charging ports.

💻 Living Room Area 💻
Opposite from the bed, you’ll find a wall-mounted TV, work desk, lounge chair, and several power outlets and USB-A ports.

🏞️ Window Area 🏞️
Easily the highlight of the Ocean View Room: a massive glass window with sweeping views over Tung Chung Bay, Hong Kong International Airport, and Chek Lap Kok Island.
If you’re into aviation, the hotel is an absolute treat for plane spotting. You can grab some incredible shots of aircrafts taking off and landing throughout the entire day, all within the comfort of your hotel room!
The night time view is also just as striking, with illuminated buildings across the bay reflecting off the water, plus the occasional sight of planes taking off into the evening.
Should you prefer a darker setup when it’s time to sleep, the windows also come with a set of sheer blinds for privacy and full blackout curtains for a pitch-black room. And despite the hotel’s proximity to the airport, the soundproofing does a great job in shutting out any engine noise.
Side Note: While the hotel doesn’t list out official measurements, I’d say it’s at least 2m tall and 4m wide – crazy stuff!

🏠 Foyer Area 🏠
The foyer area comes packed with plenty of amenities.
On one side, the mini-bar corner features several packs of tea & coffee pods, coffee machine, and a fillable water purifier to filter tap water into drinking water.
Down below is a drawer-style fridge with complimentary bottles of water, soft drinks, and a juice box – though you wanna double check your specific booking policy just in case.
Opposite the mini-bar, a built-in closet with plenty of hangers, bathrobes, iron & ironing board, in-room safe, and pairs of take-home slippers.
There’s also a luggage rack provided, though with how spacious the room is, you can basically lay your suitcases wide open anywhere on the floor without having to jump over them.

🛁 Bathroom Area 🛁
Stepping into the bathroom, you’re greeted with a full-marble setup stocked with tons of amenities.
The shower area features an adjustable showerhead, overhead rain shower (both with fantastic water pressure!), and Gilchrist & Soames body soap, shampoo, and conditioner.
The standout feature here is their sizable glass wall looking straight through the room and towards the Ocean View. Should you prefer actual privacy, the window can be covered up by an electric roller blind.
The sink area is decked out with everything you’d expect from a premium hotel: a set of body, face, and hand towels, a vanity mirror and power outlet, hand soap & lotion dispensers, and a box with combs, toothbrushes, cotton pads, and cotton buds.
Special mentions to their WavePulse hairdryer – easily one of the most powerful and satisfying hairdryers I’ve seen in a hotel!

Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung operates two complimentary shuttle routes to & from the hotel: one to Tung Chung MTR Station, and other to Hong Kong International Airport’s Terminal 1 and 2.

So how good is Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel actually? Honestly? I’m incredibly impressed! You get the full 5-star experience here: spacious rooms, great beds, and a scenic ocean view – all at a price point that’s just slightly above most mid-range spots in Tsim Sha Tsui or Central.
Sure, being on Lantau Island means you’re further out from major hotspots in Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. But if your itinerary centers around Hong Kong Disneyland, Ngong Ping 360, or you just need a spot right by Hong Kong International Airport, the hotel’s location actually plays to your benefit here!
So if you’re around Hong Kong and need a premium, quality stay near Lantau Island’s main attractions, or are looking for a place that’s spacious yet relatively budget-friendly compared to the city’s smaller rooms, then book your stay at Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel!
