A trip to Japan means another opportunity to visit some themed cafés, and once again, I’m lucky to arrive just in time for a Quintessential Quintuplets café – this time at Tokyo Skytree, with the Quintuplets dressed in Sky Bunny-themed outfits.
But what are some of the menu items featured here? Is it any good? And is it worth a visit? Let’s get to it. How Good Was The Quintessential Quintuplets Tree Village Café Actually?

🛍 Merch Store 🛍

Let’s start off with a look at their merch store at Tree Village. The decor of the store is rather simple, but what definitely isn’t is the amount of merch this place has – from the acrylic stands, charms, postcards, can badges, tapestries, and plushies of the event, to items from previous collabs, Ichiban Kuji, and other collectibles.

🍹 Café 🍹

Moving over to the food side of things, the café is located in a small corner of Tree Village right by the exit (to the outside area.) There’s only about 4-5 tables and a standing area, so on a busy day, you might have to wait a bit if you wanna grab a seat.

Other than that, there’s a counter to order your food, TV displays for the menu, some banners here and there, and that’s about it. Not too many photo spots, so if you need some ideas, make sure to grab/buy some merch before coming here.

📋 Menu & Accuracy 📋

Like most other TQQ themed cafés, the menu here consists of one main course and drink for each of the Nakano sisters, plus a shared main course and a randomized drink.
In terms of how good each main course represents each character? I say they’re… just alright. Nino’s dish is pretty series-accurate, but as for the rest? The references are a bit too simplistic for my liking:
🟡 Ichika features a fancy parfait
🦋 Nino gets pancakes with some fruit
🎧 Miku’s dish is a blue curry
🍀 Yotsuba gets a bright Neapolitan pasta
⭐️ Itsuki features a risotto with star-shaped carrots.
The drinks do a pretty good job representing the characters, with each drink featuring each quintuplet’s signature color and personality.
🟡 Ichika gets a light yellow lemonade
🦋 Nino features a slightly sweet, slightly sour grape soda
🎧 Miku gets a cool blue chocolate mint drink
🍀 Yotsuba’s is a bright green melon soda with some ice cream
⭐️ Itsuki features a sweet peach soda, decorated with two cherries

And like many other themed cafés, each item you order will come with a (randomized) drink coaster. And if you order a drink, you’ll also get a paper straw insert of the featured quintuplet.
With that out of the way, let’s have a look into what I ordered today
__________
🦋 Nino’s Fizzy Grape Soda – ¥750 🦋

Nino’s drink is a grape soda, topped with some lychee and orange jelly, and a slice of lemon. Pretty good overall, and the jelly adds a bit of texture and brightness to the otherwise simple drink.
__________
🎧 Miku’s Chocolate Mint Drink – ¥750 🎧

Miku’s Drink is a Chocolate Mint drink, served with some ice, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup. The drink itself was also quite nice – though personally I’m not a big fan of the chocolate and mint combo.

The whipped cream was very thick, which was a plus, though eating it between the ice later on proved to be quite a challenge.
__________
☕ Hot Chocolate – ¥650 ☕

A staple at themed cafés: your choice of hot chocolate, latte, or milk tea – topped with some milk foam and an edible printed graphic of one of the quintuplets (chosen at random.)
My brother and I were betting to see who’d we get today, and to my delight, the drink featured exactly who I wanted – Itsuki. (My brother wanted Yotsuba for this.)
Interestingly enough, the design featured was different to the one on the menu – though I’m not complaining since I like this chibi art way more.
The Hot Chocolate was fine, by the way. But really, you’re ordering this because you either:
– Don’t know which menu/quintuplet you want
– Want a hot drink
– Want to get a coaster at the lowest price point

💬 Side Note: No Main Courses today? 💬
I’m a big fan of The Quintessential Quintuplets, so you might wonder why I didn’t order at least a single main course this time (not even under the excuse of “doing it for the review.”) Well, it mainly boils down to two main reasons – price, and the paper plates.

The mains here were a bit on the pricey side – even for a novelty-style café. Despite that, I’d still be open to grabbing at least one, had it not been for another factor – the paper plates.
Apparently serving main courses on paper plates seems to be the norm at Tree Village, but still… at that price point, It’s kinda hard for me to justify grabbing one. At least the paper plates allow you to enjoy the meal outside of the café area.

⭐VERDICT⭐

So how good was The Quintessential Quintuplets Tree Village Café actually? So, compared to the other collab cafés I’ve been to, the menu & its accuracy wasn’t very impressive this time around. (The drinks were mighty fine, my gripe was the main course’s price, paper plates, and character accuracy.) But despite all that, I still came out of this with quite the positive experience.
As long as you’re a fan of The Quintessential Quintuplets, it’s gonna be difficult to come out of the café disappointed. (I mean, we’re basically there for the ‘collab’ part of the collab café, right?) So if you’re around Tokyo/Osaka/Fukuoka during this Tree Village collab, consider stopping by.
